This book is really good. I like that it has all of the basic information about the Flat Belly Diet in the beginning, so if one were to want to do the flat belly diet they really only need the cookbook and can save money not buying the other book (which explains the diet but doesn’t have any recipes). I have tried several recipes and they have all been very good. I like that they are healthy recipes with flavor and for the most part fairly easy to make. For me, personally, sticking to the actual diet part is not easy because I think it is a little time consuming and can be a little expensive. But I wanted this more to understand the diet and see how it could fit into my lifestyle of eating healthy. And it does! I would recommend this book. It offers recipes for: breakfast, soups & sandwiches, vegetarian, seafood, poultry, meats, snacks, and desserts. The other thing that is great about this book is that for each recipe it tells you how long it takes to make, how many servings, the nutrition info (calories, protein, carbs, fat, sat fat, cholesterol, sodium and fiber)and the MUFA (monounsaturated fats). It also tells you for each recipe what to pair it with to make it a “complete” MUFA meal and then tells you the total caloric intake if you do pair it with the suggestion. The other thing that I do like about this book is that it offers a planned out 14 day meal plan in the appendix and a MUFA serving chart (lists each MUFA, the serving size and the calories). User friendly. Good recipes. Good information.
Replace your processed grains with whole grains. However, instead of simply buying whole wheat bread, eat quinoa, oatmeal, apples, bananas, flax and wild rice. These fiber sources appear to help digestion, flush the system and help with fat reduction.
Sugary foods and beverages are devils in disguise. They contain high amounts of additives, preservatives, and artificial colors. Though drinking them may seem fun and cool, they are the major contributors of belly fat.

Fact is, there are some foods (particularly proteins) that have thermogenic property can help burn calories if consumed. Animal proteins are, in fact, more thermogenic than vegetable proteins. Thus, lean meat is reckoned as the best source for burning calories. When eating this food, you can burn about 30% of your calories by digesting this food. Include the food such as pork, beef, chicken to your daily meals, especially in your dinner to burn your taken calories.
4. Limit Alcohol Consumption. To lose your belly fat, what you drink is as important as what you eat. Alcohol from time to time is OK. But forget about losing your belly fat if you drink beer & sweet alcohols daily.
Well, you have choices. If you are overweight and don’t want to be, you can make some lifestyle changes and work on it. If you are not overweight or don’t want to lose any weight, ignore the bullies, or better yet, smile and hold your head up high. Namecallers are just insecure people and you don’t need to stoop to their level.
3. V-Sit Ups are one of my favourite exercises for my abs because it is quite challenging. The V sit-ups work on the upper and lower abs regions and you also have to focus on your balance to keep the abs engaged at the same time. It’s a great strength builder for your core.
However, keep in mind that I’m not talking about abdominal exercises here. Spot reduction (losing fat in one spot) is not possible, and doing endless amounts of crunches will not make you lose fat from the belly.

Let’s face it: that marshmallowy middle you’re sporting didn’t get there overnight. Do 1 – 2 low-caffeine days per week, and 1 no-caffeine day per week. A low day should be half your normal intake, and a no day means less than 50 mg of caffeine (you can have a cup or two of tea, but no coffee, caffeine pills, etc.).
Foods that are rich in water take up more room in your gut. This signals the body that you’ve had enough to eat and leaves less room for other foods. Many raw fruits and vegetables are full of water and nutrients and low in calories. Watermelon is a great example. It’s a good source of the antioxidant lycopene and gives you some vitamin A and C, too.
Hey Henna – I do both just depends on the day. I like to mix it up so sometimes I will workout in the morning and sometimes later in the day. Although if my #1 goal was to lose a lot of weight quickly I would seriously be trying to exercise in the morning.
Inadequate sleep affects your appetite and causes your body to hold onto belly fat. A 16-year study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology in 2006 examined the effect of sleep on almost 70,000 women. Researchers found those who regularly got less than five hours of sleep gained significantly more weight than those who slept an average of seven hours per night. Make getting seven to eight hours of sleep a priority to support your belly-fat losing efforts.
