So, on one hand I’m telling you that adding certain foods to your diet makes little to no difference in burning belly fat but on the other hand I’m telling you that removing particular foods does have a big impact.
Pears and apples are also high in water content. Eat them with the peels for extra fiber, which will keep you full longer. Go for whole fruits rather than fruit juice. You’ll get more fiber, and you have to chew the fruits. This takes longer and you’ll burn a few calories chewing, as opposed to gulping down a smoothie.

An advantage for women is that they naturally carry less visceral belly fat then men do with similar BMI’s, but that all goes out the window once they hit menopause. And for men, there’s no easy way to become a woman besides sitting through the Twilight series…
Saturated fat is bad??? Come on. What century are you living in?! Uh…you might need the saturated fat for things like hormone production and cellular integrity, no? You have seen the recent studies debunking the idiotic myth that saturated fat is bad for us, correct?
For most people, the abdominal area is the major problem area where fat accumulates in the body. The main reason for excess weight or high body fat is consuming too many calories and/or not burning enough calories. However, there are other reasons for belly fat like stress. Studies found that stress is closely connected to a bigger waistline. This is because when a person is under a lot of stress, the body releases a hormone called cortisol. This hormone increases* appetite and cravings for high-sugar foods. It also promotes* the storage of body fat in the abdominal area.
There are several ways to practice fasting, including: skipping breakfast, eating all you want five days out of the week, severely limiting calories some days or even not eating anything at all some days, or limiting your eating hours to only 6 or 8 hours a day.
If you want to boost your protein intake to 25-30% of calories, as recommended above, just eating more protein rich foods won’t cut it. You need to actually measure and fine tune in order to reach that goal.
I didn’t do the diet. 1/2 day on the anti-bloat diet & i quit. HOWEVER – the diet is probably more for average or overweight women who want to lose some of that bloat. I am in the obese category & they have you eating less calories than i am supposed to be eating.
Maybe you’re not sure when it happened…or how. You just know when you hit your 40s BAM! your body exploded into a fat-packing machine. That mini muffin top turned into a mountain of ripples and rolls and the belly fat battle began.
The most important factor to lose belly fat is creating a calorie deficit, i.e. you have to expend more calories than you consume. You can create a calorie deficit by moving more and eating less. First determine how many calories you need each day to maintain your weight. The amount of calories you require depends on your age, gender and activity level. This calorie calculator will help you determine your requirements. Once your know how many calories you need, you can decide on the size of the calorie deficit you want to create.
This diet book is badly outdated. The diet appears to be all right for those who have 20 pounds or less to lose, and for those people, could be a lifestyle eating plan. The optional exercise plan seems adequate, but not really suited for most people with real lives — you know, those people who don’t have 1-2 hours a day several times a week to devote to exercise. Maybe it would just be better if we were more like the Amish — working physically hard all day and didn’t worry about “exercise”. No …more
Use it to lose belly fat: Avoid adding salt to your meals. Instead, boost flavor with spices and herbs, many of which have added health benefits as well. Try cooking with delicious flavors like cinnamon, chili powder, cayenne powder, cumin, ginger, basil, parsley, and rosemary—we promise you won’t miss the belly-bloating salt. (Try these other tips for reducing your salt intake.)
“Starbucks and other coffee shop chains are excited to present their holiday beverage flavors, but the calorie counts are less appetizing. A 12 ounce Chestnut Praline Latte at Starbucks, for example, has nearly 300 calories and more than a day’s worth of sugar,” says St.John. “For a lighter holiday spin, try a Cinnamon Dolce latte—but ask for only one pump of flavored syrup because the default is four. You’ll save yourself a full tablespoon of added sugar!”
If you are carrying a lot of excess weight, you should avoid high-impact exercises like running to prevent joint pain. Walking is one of the simplest but best forms of exercise. It also allows you to burn calories without getting too tired. It is also relaxing and can help you manage stress which causes belly fat and weight gain.

Eating real foods will also result in you eating more of a high-fiber diet, beneficial for controlling appetite, digestion, heart health and more. It’s been stated by certain obesity researchers that “Increasing consumption of dietary fiber with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes across the life cycle is a critical step in stemming the epidemic of obesity.” (5) In particular, up your soluble fiber, found in oats, barley, peas, carrots, beans, apples, citrus fruits and psyllium. Soluble fiber will attach to cholesterol particles and remove them from your digestive system, thus lowering your risk of heart disease as well as help you lose fat.
Hey Sam – sorry for the delay here… just getting the hang of this “blog commenting” setup I have here so missed a few comments. Many apologies! Anyway – two video that I think will answer your questions…
