Hi Pauline, not sure were you go the 1000 cals per day? I don’t believe in achieving the body you desire by calorie restriction. Sure, some people do eat too much, it’s just a fact…. but most are not eating enough of the right food.
A longtime enemy of doctors and dieters, pork has been coming around as a healthier alternative of late–as long as you choose the right cut. Your best bet is pork tenderloin: A University of Wisconsin Study found that a three-ounce serving of pork tenderloin has slightly less fat than a skinless chicken breast. It has 24 grams of protein per serving and 83 mg of choline. In a study published in the journal Nutrients, scientists asked 144 overweight people to eat a diet rich in fresh lean pork. After three months, the group saw a significant reduction in waist size, BMI and belly fat, with no reduction in muscle mass! They speculate that the amino acid profile of pork protein may contribute to greater fat burning.
A recent study found that those who ate three yogurts a day while dieting lost 81% more belly fat than people who didn’t eat yogurt. All study participants were directed to eat 500 calories less per day. As part of the Flat Belly Plan, you should eat about 6 ounces of low-fat Greek yogurt before every meal. Why? It’s thought that calcium can help stop fat from entering your cells, improve your body’s ability to break down fat and help your body carry out fat through your bowel movements.
Remember though, that exercise can never compensate for a bad diet. For long term results, the best approach to losing weight and shedding belly fat is still a combination of a balanced diet and the proper exercise –- there’s just no way around this.

Increase your water intake to drink at least ten glasses of water each day. Often considered the best way to lose belly fat, the extra fluid can flush toxins and sodium out of your system and reduce constipation and water retention that can lead to bloating. While increasing water intake, avoid liquids with excessive sodium that can increase bloating like sodas or canned soups.
A related Study found that ginger was just as effective as over-the-counter pain relievers without the side effects. Two tablespoons of fresh ginger can be steeped in water for about 10-15 minutes and enjoyed with lemon or honey.
One of the biggest questions I get is “how do I lose my belly fat? I’ve tried several things but nothing worked”. When I ask what you tried I hear 100 daily sit-ups, cutting calories drastically, excess cardio, fat burners, etc.
I stumbled upon Mike’s website while searching for a solution to the ‘post-baby belly’. He seemed to be talking a lot of sense but I still wanted to be sure this book would be right for me before purchasing. So I emailed Mike my questions. He answered right away and was friendly, knowledgeable, positive, encouraging, and trustworthy.
A diet high in protein may protect you against insulin resistance, Aronne says. One easy way to up your intake is to add Organic Whey Protein to your smoothies, meals, or snacks. (You can also meal prep these 6 protein-packed recipes that will actually last all week.)
High in good bacteria, the benefits of yoghurt on gastrointestinal health have been said to provide health benefits for certain gastrointestinal conditions, including lactose intolerance, constipation, IBS, colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, and allergies. Look for the nutrition label and make sure no added sugar is used. Opt for Greek yoghurt varieties and use your own frozen berries and cinnamon to sweeten.
Keep those fluids coming! “Being dehydrated causes the body to hoard water,” Lyon says, leading you to carry up to four excess pounds around your midsection. Aim for at least eight cups of water or other fluids daily.
Research also shows that fasted training increases blood flow to the abdominal region, which further helps burn belly fat away (the better the blood flow to a region, the more catecholamines can reach it).
6. Eat More. Eating tons of healthy foods won’t make you fat. Especially not if you exercise 2-3x/week. Starving yourself is the number 1 nutritional mistakes. Healthy nutrition is important for 3 reasons:
Doing crunches until the cows come home? Stop it! When you’re down to your final inches of belly fat, the dreaded crunch won’t be the exercise that finally reveals your six-pack. “You can’t spot reduce,” Jill says. Instead, she suggests doing functional exercises that use the muscles in your core — abdominals, back, pelvic, obliques — as well as other body parts. “These exercises use more muscles, so there is a higher rate of calorie burn while you are doing them,” she says. Planks are her favorite functional exercise — they activate not just your core muscles but also your arm, leg and butt muscles.
Hundreds of crunches are the answer, right?! Not so much. Jade Jenny, head coach and owner of Champlain Valley CrossFit says, “There are really no exercises to reduce belly fat, unfortunately this is the age-old myth. People think they can get abs, and just abs.” So while crunches won’t erase your belly fat, hours of steady-state cardio also isn’t the best option.
There’s a good amount of evidence to suggestion that protein is key to losing tummy fat. Firstly, it releases the hormone PYY, which helps to send a message to your brain that you’re full. A dollop of protein in a meal should help you avoid overeating.
Fermented foods like miso, tempeh, and sauerkraut contain probiotics, a.k.a. friendly bacteria that help boost immunity, regulate gut function, and banish bloat. Unsweetened plain Greek yogurt and skyr can provide probiotic benefits too. Choose ones that have five strains or more of bacterial cultures per 6-ounce serving.
Hey Prince. #1 – make sure to talk with your parents and consult your doctor. As a minor get your parents involved with your decisions. Speaking personally – I love the foods you have listed and the training. I eat the same foods daily basis and my results are phenomenal combined with my training. No guarantees… but in my opinion it looks like you’re doing some great things here and I’m impressed that someone your age has a grasp like this!
“Middle-age spread” can appear at any age, but women may notice it most as they hit 50. Even if the number on the scale is the same as it has always been, your waistline may expand as your proportion of body fat to lean mass changes. The good news is that you can take measures to minimize belly fat, even after you hit the half-century mark.
This would be considered a traditional approach to weight loss. For those of you interested in crunching nutrition numbers, the high-carbohydrate diet contained 65 percent of calories from carbohydrates, 20 percent of calories from fat, and 15 percent of calories from protein.
Also nuts are high in protein, fiber and healthy fats, so if you eat them in moderation, they are excellent to curb hunger between meals. The most important factor to lose belly fat is creating a calorie deficit, i.e. you have to expend more calories than you consume. You can create a calorie deficit by moving more and eating less. First determine how many calories you need each day to maintain your weight. The amount of calories you require depends on your age, gender and activity level. This calorie calculator will help you determine your requirements. Once your know how many calories you need, you can decide on the size of the calorie deficit you want to create.
Try to squeeze in a 30-minute walk daily, Lyons says. The simple boost in metabolism will help you burn waistline fat more efficiently. And if you want to work out, skip those gadgets that promise “miraculous abs in minutes.” A study from Kansas State University found most devices designed to target abs (think infomercials) don’t live up to their promises. You’ll see better results with exercise.
