I am shocked at the comments on this website…I have 3 teenage girls and of course they fret about they´re weight as well… Girls, Women, get your asses of the couch and computers.. go exercise and quit eating all the processed crap! Forget carbonated beverages (including diet) they just bloat you. Eat REAL food like apples and Chicken and veggies and exercise a little. Walk to school if you can, walk to ANYPLACE that is within 6 blocks from your house(just don´t hop in the car). Ride a bike and get a grip! There is no Permanant weight loss plan that does not demand something from you. BUT… very small changes can make a big difference. Cut out soda, mcdonalds and sweets and you young girls will feel better and look better. But the less you eat.. the more your body will crave sweets and sugar so eat 5 small meals aday. Please be realistic and take along hard look in the mirror, you may look better than you think!!!!
Don’t skip meals- When you starve your body, it gets into survival mode and starts storing foods in the form of fat. So, have your breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Keep your meals small and snack on healthy foods in between these main meals.
Women who are going through menopause experience a lot of hormonal ups and downs. High levels of cortisol (or the stress hormone) are responsible for women gaining belly fat during this period. But menopause alone is not responsible for belly fat. It is also due to a sedentary lifestyle that menopausal women gain fat around the waist.

Remember that not all fat is the same. Belly fat that is stored around your organs is called visceral fat, and it increases your chances of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. If you store fat in your thighs, buttocks or arms, scientists believe it may be more healthy for you than a “beer belly.”
Hey Prince – totally understand the busy schedule – I can relate. What I do in my daily life is make food ahead of time. I also use things like protein shakes and such as supplements when I don’t have time to grab something. Bottom line, there are ways to fit it in if – each meal doesn’t have to be “a sit down dinner” – I just make an emphasis on quick healthy protein sources and fats throughout my day.
One of the best sources of protein is fish. Most fish is low in fat, and the exceptions usually have a good form of fat: omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s, which are found in salmon, herring, and other fatty fish, may help protect against heart disease and other chronic conditions.
Do you really need another reason to drop the cancer sticks? Fine: Smoking is making you fat. Not only does lighting up not help you stay slim—an all-too-common myth about smoking—but people who smoke have a higher concentration of fat around their midsection. It’s time to say sayonara to cigarettes.
What’s more, soluble fiber may help fight belly fat. An observational study of over 1100 adults found that for every 10-gram increase in soluble fiber intake, belly fat gain decreased by 3.7% over a 5-year period (6).

Reducing abdominal fat is 80% about eating the right food. Have a healthy and balanced diet with adequate macro and micro nutrients. Most importantly, skip takeaways and fast foods. Eat food prepared at home. Don’t have time? Go for raw fruits or veggies, or steam cooked veggies instead.
My criticism of the data in the book is that it is based on a Yale ‘study’ which involved a VERY small number of participants. It’s difficult to even CALL this a ‘study’, with participants numbering in the 2-digit range! However, if this method of weight loss rings your chimes, it’ll work for you. The authors state that one will lose weight, even without exercise, though they indicate that exercise is preferable. I usually like anything from the Prevention magazine folks, but this one is just ok …more
That means Pink Lady over Granny Smith, watermelon over honeydew, red grapes over green ones. The higher levels of nutrients called flavonoids—particularly anthocyanins, compounds that give red fruits their color—calm the action of fat-storage genes. In fact, red-bellied stone fruits like plums boast phenolic compounds that have been shown to modulate the expression of fat genes. When your body is low on calcium, it produces a hormone that signals the body to store visceral fat. Meeting your recommended daily calcium needs (that’s 1,000 milligrams for adults) can help reduce levels of this hormone. And a recent study published in Obesity Research found that calcium from dairy has a stronger effect than calcium from other sources. I recommend eating low-fat Greek yogurt as a daily snack (just six ounces contain about 20 percent of your recommended dietary allowance for calcium), though any low-fat dairy will do.

If you are ready to burn off belly fat and make lifestyle changes that will help you maintain a healthy weight, the belly fat diet plan can help. The belly fat diet plan isn’t some crazy fad, it’s a comprehensive plan. These are the main principles of the belly fat diet plan (which you should follow for a lifetime):
High protein intake increases release of the fullness hormone PYY, which decreases appetite and promotes fullness. Protein also raises your metabolic rate and helps you retain muscle mass during weight loss (13, 14, 15).
There isn’t one magic trick or quick fix that will melt the fat around your midsection and give you those coveted abs we all see on the newsstands. Decreasing belly fat — and all body fat for that matter — is about making changes over the long-term.
Women are more likely to gain excess belly fat, especially deep inside the belly, as they go through perimenopause and into menopause. This is due to the fact that as estrogen levels drop, body fat is redistributed from the hips, thighs and buttocks to the abdomen.
Unfortunately, there’s no instant fix for belly fat — you’ll need to make lifestyle changes to lose it. But good news — harmful belly fat is the first fat to go when you start losing weight. Losing just 5 to 10% of your body weight makes a major difference in reducing your disease risk, so incorporating just a few tips is enough to help you get healthier.
