For most of us, this means rapid fat reduction in places like our arms, shoulders, chest, face, and legs, and slower reductions in our stomachs, hips, lower back, and thighs, which have high concentrations of stubborn fat cells.
Belly fat is maligned for its way of tampering with any outfit that doesn’t involve a muumuu, but really there’s something way worse about the stuff: When white fat expands in your abdomen, nestling deep among your organs, it sets you up for some serious health trouble.
Vegetables that have high water content are cucumber, lettuce, celery, radish, zucchini, tomato, cabbage and more. What’s good in general about fruits and vegetables is that these foods are generally full of water and they are also a good source of fiber and many other nutrients and antioxidants. Fruits have other benefit – being sweet, so can satisfy your sweet tooth for much less calories than cookies or other sweets.
Interval Training (20 minutes) — If you’re overweight, use a stationary bike, or if you like to run, do sprints on the track. Go hard for 20 seconds, then rest for 40 seconds. Then hard for 30 seconds, rest for 30 seconds. Then hard for 40 seconds, rest for 20 seconds. Then hard for one minute, rest for one minute. Repeat this routine four times.
2. Eat fajitas naked. Next time you eat Mexican food, skip the flour tortillas and enjoy your fajitas naked. Eat the chicken/beef/shrimp with salsa, lettuce, and sautéed peppers and onions. Add guacamole to get your healthy dose of monounsaturated fats and an extra boost of flavor. You won’t miss the starchy casing.
I, more or less, eat Paleo now, and combine that practice with intermittent fasting on a daily basis. The combination of having much foods, much more harmonious foods, and much more time for my body to perform “maintenance” for itself without being bombarded by food has been invaluable.

There are certain foods that will help you lose belly fat, while other foods will actually increase belly fat. Foods that help burn belly fat are low in saturated fat and high in monounsaturated fat, such as olive oil, walnuts, and flax seeds. However, avoid refined grains, which increase belly fat, and choose whole grains instead. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables, preferably organic is ideal. Indeed, research shows that Mediterranean style dietis the best diet in aiding the loss of belly fat. Read more about foods that can help you lose belly fat.
If you’re not used to eating this much fiber, add it gradually to avoid gas and diarrhea and be sure to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Some of the fiber rich foods are true superfoods that are also featured in my e-book about superfoods which is part of the Natural Health Revolution Program, a program that will help you to achieve your health, nutrition or weight loss goals.
Can you please help me? I am 23 years old, 5’5, and weigh about 125 pounds. I am not fat, nor do I appear fat. But, I do have a pudge on my belly. It’s the one that forms two rolls when I sit. I can easily get away with this by sucking my stomach in, but I just want to have a completely flat stomach without having to suck in my gut. I am not overeating. I have eliminated as much sugar from my diet as possible. When I try to workout, I always feel like I’m not getting anywhere. For example, I’ve tried to run back and forth on my lot. I did that a few times and stopped. I wasn’t sure if it would be effective. What can I do to get rid of my gut by December? Your response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Salt, in moderation, is a good thing—the mineral is necessary for a healthy heart and brain. But too much salt and you’ll retain water, bloating up like a water balloon. Cutting salt is one of the primary ways to drop extra water weight (one reason you may see a big weight loss when starting a new diet!). Move the salt shaker off your table so you’ll get out of the habit of routinely salting all your food. Then if you taste your food and still really want salt you can still stand up and get some. Natural yoghurt is rich in protein and makes an excellent snack. Just add a little honey, fruit or granola. Yoghurt contains lactobacillus bacteria, which are the “good” bacteria that improves intestinal function and nutrient absorption and reduces bloating. Furthermore, yogurt can help you not just reduce bloating, but also belly fat. A study from the University of Tennessee showed that people who ate yogurt, as part of their calorie controlled diet, lost more weight, lost more belly fat, lost more inches from around their weight and lost LESS muscle mass. Indeed, they recommended that dieters should eat 3 servings of fat-free or low-fat dairy products every day.

You needn’t exercise a world full of self-control while on any proven diet plan – just add some complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, bulgur wheat, couscous, dark bread, and cereal fiber to your diet. By adding whole grains to your daily diet, you automatically reduce your intake of other food types because whole grains are filled with fiber that give you a feeling of satiation and are more difficult to digest. This means you feel full for longer and eventually eat less.
Reach for broccoli, chia seeds, kale and collard greens for fiber, protein and calcium. And fill out the rest of your diet with nuts and seeds — especially almonds — nonfat dairy, lentils and beans, fish, chicken and turkey breast and lots of fresh veggies to ensure you’re getting the fiber, protein and calcium you need.
Limitations: The first 4 days are very restrictive. After that, you must eat 400 calories every 4 hours and include monounsaturated fats with every meal. A busy or unpredictable schedule can make this challenging.
Unfortunately, there’s no instant fix for belly fat — you’ll need to make lifestyle changes to lose it. But good news — harmful belly fat is the first fat to go when you start losing weight. Losing just 5 to 10% of your body weight makes a major difference in reducing your disease risk, so incorporating just a few tips is enough to help you get healthier.
Boost your overall health and shed excess belly fat by adding exercise to your weekly routine. Any exercise you do — whether that’s a structured workout at the gym or an informal brisk walk around your neighborhood — utilizes calories, so you’ll burn more body fat.
From the editors of Prevention magazine, the Flat Belly Diet claims that followers can lose up to 15 pounds in 32 days. Researched in part by a registered dietitian (always a good thing), the plan focuses on taking in monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) from foods like oils, nuts and seeds, olives, avocado and dark chocolate. The author promises that dieters will want to follow this type of eating for the long haul.
Having omega-3 fatty acids such as icosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid along with linoleic acid could help break down the belly fat to decrease its storage around your waistline. In case you could not take this fish oil, you could eat fish which are high in omega-3 fatty acids.
This traditional breakfast food is a great addition to your weight loss journey because of its soluble fiber content. In fact, oats prevent obesity and abdominal fat distribution and improve liver function in humans (4).
Whereas many beverages can increase your waistline (see above), there is one that is guaranteed to trim your tummy: water. Drinking plain ol’ H2O works because staying fully hydrated tells your body it’s okay to release any extra water it’s retaining, decreasing the accompanying bloat. Plus, drinking water has been proven to reduce cravings for sweets, lower your appetite, and help you feel satiated faster.

It sounds too good to be true: One of your favorite beverages may rev the metabolism and help you lose weight. Coffee does stimulate the metabolismm, but only a little. Don’t count on this for weight loss, especially if you add calories with toppings.
