Thanks for the kind words Erika – just been filing through all the comments here so apologize for the delay. The following are just my thoughts (i’m sure some will disagree but whatever) — If my main goal is to burn fat. I mean – get rid of the stomach abnormality I’m doing whatever I can to eliminate sugar from my diet. So, while I eat fruit… I don’t add additional things like honey. Doesn’t mean honey isn’t healthy – I’m just talking in terms of my fat loss goal. As far as spinach wrap (yukkkk!). Sorry, but most wraps will do nothing for your fat loss goal but make it worse… I think you’re trying to eat a little too much like a bird (unless your a vegan or are avoiding meat for personal beliefs) I be making sure I’m adding proteins to each meal. Why? Because in my experience you burn more fat with substance. As far as smart balance and things like that I won’t really go into that, but I have my personal opinions and they aren’t favorable to the vast majority of processed “alternative” spreads. Bottom line – to burn fat. I’m talking if I… Read more »
1. Flick Step: Bend knees and shift weight to that side. Squeeze the oblique’s and rock the hip to lift the other leg (should have some resistance through the toe to allow to “flicking” up off the ground). You should do 10 reps each side, then 10 again (total of 20, alternating after 10)
Sometimes you need a stress-reducing shortcut. You can trick your body into relaxing with an aromatherapy inhaler, which you can use the second you feel stressed. The brain quickly processes smells, which hit the amygdala, the area of your brain responsible for anxiety. Scents like eucalyptus, lavender and bergamot can help shut down stress.
Fish oil is the best source of fat to lose your belly fat. Fish oil naturally increases testosterone levels and increases fat loss. 6g omega-3 per day is a good start. Check Carlson Fish Oil: 1600mg omega-3 per tbsp.
High in good bacteria, the benefits of yoghurt on gastrointestinal health have been said to provide health benefits for certain gastrointestinal conditions, including lactose intolerance, constipation, IBS, colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, Helicobacter pylori infection, and allergies. Look for the nutrition label and make sure no added sugar is used. Opt for Greek yoghurt varieties and use your own frozen berries and cinnamon to sweeten.

Im 5’7 and my weight was 132 to 137 lbs. five years agoI had a hysterectomy that put me into major menopause 1 week later since then in the last 5 years I have put on 20 pounds, I have a muffin top, my bra’s are very tight some dont fit at all and my thighs are huge. This summer and the summer of 2014 I felt my clothes get tighter to the point where I had to buy new clothes for myself. I own a closet full of clothes I refuse to spend another nickel on new pants, shorts, shirts, bathing suits, tank tops, bra’s ect:.I need to lose this menopause weight that I put on I am trying my hardest by eating the right foods and drinking protein shakes for meal replacement also I’m drinking a lot of fruit and vegetable smoothies. I just need a small meal at night as a dinner. I work out at home and I walk my road everyday, I do have lower back problems so I need to be careful when I work out.. I don’t get enough sleep at night I wake up every 2 hours because of lower back pain and I cannot get comfortable in bed, I go from my bed to my recliner back to bed to my couch to my recliner, I’m hoping now that I’m dieting trying to lose weight and working out stretching and walking all of it will help my lower back problems so I can sleep more at night with out waking up stiffened and stuck in a position, in pain..
From the editors of Prevention magazine, the Flat Belly Diet claims that followers can lose up to 15 pounds in 32 days. Researched in part by a registered dietitian (always a good thing), the plan focuses on taking in monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) from foods like oils, nuts and seeds, olives, avocado and dark chocolate. The author promises that dieters will want to follow this type of eating for the long haul.
Instead of satisfying your sweet tooth with some refined sugar, turn to berries and enjoy a slimmer waistline in no time. Berries are loaded with antioxidants, which can help reduce inflammation throughout the body, and research from the University of Michigan reveals that rats given a berry-rich diet shaved off a significant proportion of their belly fat when compared to a control group. Berries like strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries are also loaded with resveratrol, an antioxidant pigment that has been linked to reductions in belly fat and a reduced risk of dementia, to boot.
The idea of monounsaturated fatty acids is a good idea. I do agree with that. BUT, while the 4-day kickstart did help me lose 4 pounds and 2 inches, I found that it was hard to find really healthy, satisfying meals in the recipes and there was a lot of bread/grains and dairy in the recipes, but not so much vegetable variety. It has a lot of carrots, onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Where are the cruciferous green vegetables? I aslo don’t agree with eating non-fat dairy. You need some fat for your brain and hormones. After the 4 days, I regained what I had initially lost. They claim you don’t have to exercise to lose the belly, but that is really far-fetched. I don’t recommend this diet.
Spirulina is a sea plant that is high in protein and calcium, boosts your energy and is a great antioxidant. It is available in powder form and can be added to your Healthy Mummy Smoothie for that extra boost.
Belly fat is maligned for its way of tampering with any outfit that doesn’t involve a muumuu, but really there’s something way worse about the stuff: When white fat expands in your abdomen, nestling deep among your organs, it sets you up for some serious health trouble.

Maybe you’re not sure when it happened…or how. You just know when you hit your 40s BAM! your body exploded into a fat-packing machine. That mini muffin top turned into a mountain of ripples and rolls and the belly fat battle began.

The fat-burning equation is simple: Protein builds muscle. More muscle = more fat burning. And fish is one of the healthiest sources of lean protein—especially wild salmon, says dietitian Lauren Minchen. It’s also a rich source of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, which fuel fat burning, block fat storage and aid weight loss, she explains. But that’s not all: “Getting enough protein and healthy fat also helps to reduce cravings and has been shown to help keep weight off for longer,” adds Spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Alissa Rumsey.
