Hi Kay… I don’t believe in portion size. In my book it’s a total gimmick. I eat until I’m satisfied… period. As far as the other things you indicated… NOT SURE… everybody responds differently to food. I mean, there’s not a single study that can claim “difinitively” that raw veggies are going to make you lose more weight than cooked. (at least I’ve never read one). I try to eat raw whenever possible just because they tend to retain more nutrient density. Also, I don’t see why 93% would be any better OR worse than 90% or there about. I mean… you can really “split hairs” but for some people a fattier cut actually more fat. I try to eat my meats as leans as possible, but don’t fret when they are a little “fattier”.
6. Target your lower back. To stand tall, you need to strengthen the muscles that support your spine. To do that, try this exercise: Lie on your stomach with a rolled towel under your forehead. Clasp your hands behind your waist and slowly lift your head and shoulders off the floor, pinching the shoulder blades together. Only go as far as comfortable. Hold, then release.
The Flat Belly Diet has two phases, a four-day “anti-bloat” phase with specific foods and drinks, and a four-week eating plan during which women eat about 1,600 calories a day. There’s a Flat Belly Diet for men that’s similar, but allows for more calories. The Flat Belly Diet emphasizes eating foods that are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), along with plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Find out your body type. If you are a mesomorph you will be able to boast amazing ab definition. If you are an ectomorph, you should be relatively light, as you have a light frame and are lightly muscled. Ectomorphs should be able to lose belly fat relatively easily, but will have to put a lot of effort in gaining muscle mass and ab definition. Endomorphs will struggle the most to lose belly fat, and will have to work hard to achieve defined abs. Use the body type calculator to determine your body type.
Red is one of the best colors for weight loss. That’s because the color is due to higher levels of nutrients called flavonoids—particularly anthocyanins—which calm the action of fat-storage genes. In fact, red-bellied stone fruits like plums boast phenolic compounds that have been shown to “turn off” fat genes, and from pectin—a gelatin-like type of fiber found in the cell walls of fruits that limits the amount of fat your cells can absorb.
Obviously that’s pretty extreme and I wouldn’t advise doing it (unless you were in a supervised environment), but it hits home the point that losing belly fat comes down to reducing your caloric intake to a degree where your body can start eating away at its own fat stores.
Accidentally purchased this thinking it was the hardcover cookbook in paperback. (Checked out the hardcover cookbook from the library and loved it) The print for this paperback is so small I need to wear my cheater glasses and sadly NONE of the recipes I liked from the cookbook are in this book because it barely includes 1/4 of the recipes. I did like the added exercise program but the other 2/4 of the book is a waste of space. Hardcover cookbook is definitely a better choice if you’re interested. It explains the diet with less chapters and you can actually read it!
When you eat food, it gets broken down into various molecules that your cells can use, and these molecules are released into your blood. Insulin is released as well, and its job is to shuttle these nutrients into cells for absorption and processing.
Having cortisol (also called the stress hormone) in the body isn’t always bad. The body needs cortisol, but only in small doses. Abnormal amounts lead to abdominal fat and a number of serious diseases.

You don’t have to become a monk or anything, but if you just unplug from the grid for a bit each day you’ll see how unnatural our world has become, and you’ll see the link between your body and the lifestyle that the masses subscribe to.
Young women with excess belly fat may try several weight-loss methods, from restrictive dieting to starting a rigorous exercise program. While these can work in the short-term, for the long run you need to adopt healthy habits you can stick to for life. Exercise raises the metabolism and burns calories, making it a key component in your effort to lose unwanted jiggle. Still, the types of exercises, frequency, duration and intensity can all affect how much fat you lose.
Great skin is the foundation of looking good. Harsh chemical peels and under-the-knife surgeries are giving way to kinder and gentler treatments, and new advances in laser and light therapy offer non-intrusive alternatives for a variety of skin conditions
Hormones play a major role in determining fat distribution in the body. And any hormonal imbalance can lead to increased hunger, slow metabolism, and increased stress levels, leading to belly fat accumulation.
If you are carrying a lot of excess weight, you should avoid high-impact exercises like running to prevent joint pain. Walking is one of the simplest but best forms of exercise. It also allows you to burn calories without getting too tired. It is also relaxing and can help you manage stress which causes belly fat and weight gain.
13. Discover Pilates. This series of stretching-type exercises done on the floor and on special equipment has been used by dancers for decades. But now New Yorker Margaret Klugman, 55, (and hundreds of others including many celebrities) attribute their tight abs to this low-impact form of exercise. According to the American Heart Association, “soft drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages are the No. 1 source of added sugars in the American diet.” Added sugars mean added calories — something you want to avoid to help with weight loss and cut down on belly fat. Yet, high-fructose corn syrup has gradually replaced refined sugar as the main sweetener in soft drinks and has been blamed as a potential contributor to the obesity epidemic.
A 2007 study published in the scientific journal Diabetes Care reveals what you need to do to move fat away from your midsection. Over the course of the study, every participant was put on three different diet plans for one month each–two are relevant to our discussion so I’ll focus on those:
Hey Jason, I watched a few of your videos on YouTube and I think they are all great and thank you for your help. After watching a few videos I kind of mixed in a few of the things you mentioned to get rid of belly fat. Just wanted your input on it. Thanks!

Research shows that belly fat leads to higher levels of enemy stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline that work against insulin and cause things like intense cravings. Insulin fights back by rising and when it does, fat sticks like cling wrap around your middle.

1. Avoid low-fat or fat-free salad dressings. These dressings replace the oils that you would normally find in a salad dressing with sugar. Instead, use extra virgin olive oil. You can mix it with a variety of different vinegars to change the flavor of your salad dressings. Some of my favorites are balsamic, red wine, or tarragon vinegar. Bonus: Vinegar helps control blood sugar, which will further help with your weight-loss efforts.
