I really wish there were a clear formula somewhere for the map of what we are eating. Examples are everywhere, but I’m a “rules” kinda gal. Also, I’m a vegetarian and there wasn’t much help in substitutions for that. I DO love the Sassy Water. That was a great recipe that I continue to make daily. But…you could google that recipe and save some money. Book was okay. Nothing ground-breaking.
Snack: Kale Chips and Salsa. Kale chips are all the rage for good reason. They are a super food combined with all the goodness of chips! Add even more flavor and antioxidants by dipping them in salsa!

Nature is very persistent, time keeps on going no matter what, and over time if you neglect your belly fat the problem will only get worse. That’s why it’s good to be just as persistent as nature, and take steps each day to eat the right foods, get a bit of activity, be happy, and nourish yourself. As you do these little things each day, they will accumulate as more and more time passes. It’s natural for things to take time to work, which is why you want to avoid fast track promises and gimmicks to lose belly fat, because in all likelihood it will just backfire and you’ll be back at square one trying to start all over again.
It might be your brunch and breakfast go-to, but there’s reason to give the silky, golden yolks some love “Egg yolks are a source of Vitamin D (a vitamin most Americans do not eat enough of). Being physically active is a key in losing belly fat and should be combined with healthy nutrition. If you only eat foods that seem to target belly fat without exercising, you will see much slower results.
You’d love to have a flat belly for the party tonight, but thanks to one too many sodas or that basket of tortilla chips, zipping your pants is a real struggle. Abdominal bloating not only looks bad but can also cause physical discomfort. The good news? Experts say stomach bloating is a condition you can avoid pretty easily.
5. Lie on your left side, supporting your upper body on your left elbow, forearm, and hand. Your elbow should be directly under your shoulder. Slowly lift the rest of your body off the floor, so all that’s touching is your forearm and feet. (Use the other arm to balance. For an advanced move, hold that arm straight up in the air.) Keep your body as straight as possible for maximum effect. Hold as long as is comfortable or until you can no longer maintain good form. Then slowly lower and relax. Repeat on the other side. Do as many times as possible until fatigued. [pagebreak]Here’s a favorite from Virginia Markstein, 30, of Birmingham, AL, who also works on reducing her waistline by using an exercise ball.
Women who wake up and go to bed at the same time each evening have lower levels of body fat, according to a recent Brigham Young University study. Chaotic sleep habits cause your internal clock to go haywire, which in turn causes your body to secrete fat-storing hormones like cortisol. (Avoid these 10 more unhealthy weekend habits that set you up for a less-than-stellar week.)

3. V-Sit Ups are one of my favourite exercises for my abs because it is quite challenging. The V sit-ups work on the upper and lower abs regions and you also have to focus on your balance to keep the abs engaged at the same time. It’s a great strength builder for your core.
Tight deadlines, bills, your kids — whatever your source of stress, having too much of it may make it harder for you to drop unwanted pounds, especially from your middle. And it’s not just because you tend to reach for high-fat, high-calorie fare when you’re stressed, though that’s part of it. It’s also due to the stress hormone cortisol, which may increase the amount of fat your body clings to and enlarge your fat cells. Higher levels of cortisol have been linked to more visceral fat.
It’s normal to feel a few hunger pangs when you cut your calorie intake, but you don’t want to feel ravenous. Filling your diet with low energy-density foods — ones that have a low calorie count per gram — allows you to fill up on larger portions while controlling your calorie intake. Many of these foods also supply water and fiber, which can make you feel full, to help with weight loss.

In fact, red-bellied stone fruits like plums boast phenolic compounds that have been shown to “turn off” fat genes, and from pectin—a gelatin-like type of fiber found in the cell walls of fruits that limits the amount of fat your cells can absorb.
