Use ginger as a spice in your cooking whenever you can to increase your ginger intake. Cooking ginger for a short period of up to 6 minutes actually enhances its health benefits (as you can read in my article about the health benefits of cooked and dried ginger). Luckily, ginger has a tasty flavor that doesn’t need to be “masked” in order to reap the rewards the plant has to offer.
Fat doesn’t just sit in your body, it actually stores toxins and can affect hormone balance. As Kristen Hairston, MD, assistant professor of endocrinology and metabolism at Wake Forest School of Medicine, puts it: fat makes “lots of nasty substances.”
Curcumin is an anti-inflammatory component extracted from the herb turmeric. With a few capsules a day, or by adding the pungent spice to your food, curcumin supports a healthy inflammatory response by mediating several inflammatory processes in your body. Research has shown curcumin supports a healthy metabolism and is a great ingredient to add to any recipe to cure your belly fat. To get the maximum benefit of curcumin, look for a turmeric extract that contains at least 95 percent curcumin.
This is ratio of weight in kilograms to the square of height in meters. This parameter helps doctors judge whether the person will suffer from heart disease or strokes. Those having a BMI of 25-29.9 are considered overweight and those with a BMI of 30 are considered obese. However, this parameter is not always accurate in measuring belly fat. In fact, you can measure your belly fat with a measuring tape in front of the mirror, and set your own targets to reduce belly fat. Looking at the mirror and checking regularly will motivate you to lose the unhealthy fat lining your abdomen.

Eating real foods will also result in you eating more of a high-fiber diet, beneficial for controlling appetite, digestion, heart health and more. It’s been stated by certain obesity researchers that “Increasing consumption of dietary fiber with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes across the life cycle is a critical step in stemming the epidemic of obesity.” (5) In particular, up your soluble fiber, found in oats, barley, peas, carrots, beans, apples, citrus fruits and psyllium. Soluble fiber will attach to cholesterol particles and remove them from your digestive system, thus lowering your risk of heart disease as well as help you lose fat.
Lunge forward as shown in the picture. Take a big step forward with your right leg, and sit down as if on a chair so that your knees make a 90-degree angle with the floor. The left leg should be positioned backwards, supported by the toes.
For most of us, this means rapid fat reduction in places like our arms, chest, face, and legs, and slower reductions in our stomachs, hips, lower back, and thighs, which have high concentrations of stubborn fat cells.
Saturated fat is actually GOOD for you. Polyunsaturated (vegetable oil) is what you want to avoid like the plague. Eggs, butter, cheese–it won’t hurt you. Furthermore, these things have vitamin K2 (primarily cheese) that help decrease your chances of a heart attack. How? Well, D3 optimizes calcium absorption. Thing of it is, the calcium gets deposited wherever (like in your arteries). The K2 directs it to where it needs to go, and takes it from where it doesn’t belong. And avoid soy unless it’s non-GMO AND fermented (and I think sprouted). That will kill your thyroid.
Try more intense sprints with shorter rest intervals. Warm up for 5 to 10 minutes, then alternate 1-minute sprints with 1-minute rest periods, and repeat each interval 10 to 20 times during your workout.
Although you can’t target fat loss to certain body parts as you’ll lose it everywhere, you can train the muscles of a certain area of your body and shape the muscle in your problem areas. Some trainers recommend to intersperse a fat-burning activity with high repetitions of an exercise that targets the problematic area.
Saying “No, thanks” to that apple or banana is a huge mistake. “Potassium, found in high amounts in fruits and vegetables, helps to naturally de-bloat the body,” explains St. John. “Also, the sugar found in whole fruits acts differently in the body than added sugars. Bananas, often cited as being ‘high in sugar’, are very high in potassium and definitely contribute to de-bloating and a flat belly,” she continues.
Belly fat is dangerous (1). It not only prevents you from being fashion forward (talk about sporting those amazing crop tops), but is also closely linked to diabetes, heart disease, and insulin resistance (2), (3). And it can affect anyone, irrespective of age, genetics, etc. So, you must address the issue immediately by consuming foods that help mobilize this stubborn fat. In this article, I have listed 25 such foods to include in your diet and live a healthy and happy life. But before that, let me tell you the reason belly region is prone to accumulating fat. Swipe up!
Yes, it can be very tempting to reach for the merlot at the end of a particularly taxing day at the office, but studies show that alcohol is one of the main offenders when it comes to storing belly fat. Consider this: if you consume just two glasses of wine an evening, that’s an extra 72,000 calories a year, which equates to 20 pounds of fat.
If you’re not used to eating this much fiber, add it gradually to avoid gas and diarrhea and be sure to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Some of the fiber rich foods are true superfoods that are also featured in my e-book about superfoods which is part of the Natural Health Revolution Program, a program that will help you to achieve your health, nutrition or weight loss goals.
Hundreds of crunches are the answer, right?! Not so much. Jade Jenny, head coach and owner of Champlain Valley CrossFit says, “There are really no exercises to reduce belly fat, unfortunately this is the age-old myth. People think they can get abs, and just abs.” So while crunches won’t erase your belly fat, hours of steady-state cardio also isn’t the best option.
Eating out: Allowed. Check out restaurant menus beforehand to find meals that most closely resemble those in the book. Opt for safe bets such as salad made of leafy greens, raw veggies, grilled chicken or salmon and balsamic vinegar. Always bring 2 tablespoons of nuts to supplement meals at restaurants where MUFAs aren’t available. The “Flat Belly Diet! Pocket Guide” lists acceptable dishes at many popular restaurants.
Hi Jason my name is Paige I’m trying to loose my stomach that’s it that’s all what if I have just some type a fruit a day and workout for 30 minutes each day will I still loose my stomach fat and also does vinegar, lemon, or metamucil help??
Tight deadlines, bills, your kids—whatever your source of stress, having too much of it may make it harder for you to drop unwanted pounds, especially from your middle. And it’s not just because you tend to reach for high-fat, high-calorie fare when you’re stressed, though that’s part of it. It’s also due to the stress hormone cortisol, which may increase the amount of fat your body clings to and enlarge your fat cells. Higher levels of cortisol have been linked to more visceral fat.
Booze has a lot more calories than you might expect: 153 for a 12-ounce regular beer and 125 for a 5-ounce pour of red wine. (Don’t even get us started on the piña colada, which packs 500 calories into just nine ounces.) But alcohol may be widening to your waistline in another less obvious way. The calories in alcohol can’t be stored for later, so the body’s metabolism has to focus on alcohol first when it’s in the body. This diverts it from its task of burning fat, and fat burn especially drops in the belly. But there is such a thing as drinking responsibly for weight loss. Older women who drink about one alcoholic beverage per per day seem to gain less weight over time than women who don’t drink, probably because they keep other healthy behaviors and are more physically active.
Amazingly, with this eat 400 calories-every-4-hours plan you don’t “climb the wall” from deprivation. That’s the hidden power of “MUFAs” at work—the scientifically proven secret ingredient in this diet known to target, destroy, and prevent belly bloat and deeper, more dangerous fat.
Refuse to base your actions on a cleanse or liquid diet. Cleanses are usually only effective for weight loss when combined with a healthy diet, while liquid diets do not give you the nutrients you need for lasting weight loss. Choose to change your eating habits to fresh produce, lean protein and whole grains instead.
Dan Mendilow shares some fantastic points on what you need to do to turn your body into a belly-fat burning machine by replacing a few unhealthy foods with healthy foods. Dan goes on to explain the importance of eating certain fats and why you should not be shunning them in your quest to lose your belly fat.

Naturally sweet oatmeal recipes in Zero Belly Diet were the key to test panelist Isabel Fiolek’s dramatic 13-pound weight loss. “I happen to have a big sugar addiction,” Isabel admits. “But the recipes have been surprisingly satisfying for my sweet tooth.” Isabel also made dramatic health strides: A checkup after her six weeks on Zero Belly Diet revealed she’d dropped her total cholesterol by 25 percent and her blood glucose level by 10 percent.
Who knew there was a connection between a spicy pepper scorching your mouth and burning your belly fat? Scientists did! According to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, daily consumption of one of the compounds found in pepper (capsaicin) speeds up abdominal fat loss by boosting the body’s ability to convert food into energy. It also acts as a natural appetite suppressant: men who ate spicy appetizers consumed 200 fewer calories at later meals than those that did not, a study by Canadian researchers found. All you have to do to reap the benefits is use a pinch of cayenne pepper to season grilled fish, meats, and eggs.
Another win for your cup of joe: Caffeinated coffee is a natural (mild) diuretic, which helps you de-puff by eliminating excess water in the body. Java’s stimulating effects also keep things moving in your gut, London says. The regular bowel movements help with a flatter belly.
Eat at least one good source of healthy fat every day. Monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids help to fight both belly fat and inflammation. These fats are essential to maintaining a desirable body weight as well as preventing disease.

Quinoa (pronounced keen-wa) is a nutritional all-star that belongs in your weight loss plan. This whole grain has 8 grams of hunger-busting protein and 5 grams of fiber in one cup, and you’ll also get iron, zinc, selenium, and vitamin E. Quinoa is as easy to cook as rice. For a quick dinner, mix in some vegetables, nuts, or lean protein.
It’s the best fruit for weight loss. That means Pink Lady over Granny Smith, watermelon over honeydew, red grapes over green ones. The higher levels of nutrients called flavonoids—particularly anthocyanins, compounds that give red fruits their color—calm the action of fat-storage genes. In fact, red-bellied stone fruits like plums boast phenolic compounds that have been shown to modulate the expression of fat genes.
Start doing cardiovascular exercise five times a week to lose belly fat. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, you need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise each week to maintain your weight. If you want to lose weight, you need to engage in even more. Aim for 30- to 45-minute workouts five times a week for belly-fat loss. Intensity refers to how hard you work or the effort you give. Moderate-intensity exercise such as light jogging or cycling takes place at a pace that allows you to carry on a conversation. In contrast, with vigorous activity such as running, sprinting or jumping rope, your heart rate increases to the point that you can no longer maintain a conversation.
